According to Alfred Ade-Ijimakinwa, the BusinessIQ Philanthropy Project 1000 initiative is designed to engage and train one thousand young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 40 on necessary technical skillsets required to launch thriving businesses that would eventually create sources of livelihood for them and job opportunities for others.
The participating entrepreneurs will have to go through two stages. The first stage is the Basic Entrepreneurship (B.E) Program where the participating entrepreneurs go through a one month onsite entrepreneurship training. Upon completion, successful participants will be awarded the certificate of completion. After which they will be integrated into the second stage of the program.
The second stage is the Mentorship and Alumni Network (M.A.N) where the entrepreneurs will be exposed to mentorship under successful business mentors and will be able to access business and financial support for their businesses.
Last week Saturday, 5th of February 2022, the first batch of participating entrepreneurs who enrolled for the Project 1000 initiative commenced the Basic Entrepreneurship Training. Alfred Ade-Ijimakinwa, the convener of the Project 1000 initiative, took the participants on the Psychology of an Entrepreneur’s Mind. It was an impactful session that exposed the participants to the thinking pattern of most successful entrepreneurs in the business world. In the second session, a strategic entrepreneur, Samuel Charles, took the participants on the 10 Irrefutable Habits of an Entrepreneur, a highly engaging session for the participants.
The Basic Entrepreneurship program is scheduled to hold every Saturday in the month of February. After which, participants will be awarded certificates of completion before moving on to the second stage.
When asked the reason behind the Project 1000 Initiative, Alfred Ade-Ijimakinwa who is also a business consultant with over a decade experience, responded that he is concerned about the economy of Nigeria and the high levels of unemployment, which is causing several social vices like thuggery, robbery, and Yahoo Yahoo. He believes that the surest path out of these social vices is to engage the youths in entrepreneurship, and to support them to begin their businesses.
According to Alfred Ade-Ijimakinwa, the project is presently self-funded with some support from his friends. He is hoping that corporate organisations and high net-worth individuals would join in the support of this worthy cause.
