Pastor Adeboye defies FG's Twitter ban, says tweeting is his human rights

Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has defied the federal government’s Twitter ban.

The cleric on Monday posted a tweet reacting to the ban of the microblogging platform.

He said tweeting is in accordance with Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of human rights.

"The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 Nations & Territories. The tweets here are in accordance to Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of Human Rights," Adeboye posted.
Apart from Adeboye, many top personalities and government officials including former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and former Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, have been tweeting since the Twitter suspension.

Ezekwesili had tweeted yesterday, "I hope we have today made it clear enough to  @NigeriaGov that We The People extremely oppose the #TwitterBan.

"Let now the “Indefinite”.. aka as “Temporary” suspension be rescinded.

"The country has plenty Big Ticket Issues on the table, needing urgent attention.#KeepitOn."
