Real estate company sacks Baba Ijesha as ambassador as CCTV footage of his acts is released

Real estate firm, Matrix Homes & Properties Limited, has fired embattled Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha, as its brand ambassador.

The film star, whose real name is Olarenwaju James, has been in police custody since he was apprehended for molesting a teenage girl.

Baba Ijesha had recently confessed to sexually assaulting the 14-year-old girl in her home.

He admitted to molesting the minor, who is a foster daughter to Comedian Princess, both when she was 7 and 14.

On Friday, Matrix Homes released a statement via its Instagram story wherein it disassociated itself from Baba Ijesha.

The company also stated that the actor ceases to be its brand ambassador due to “his recent misconduct”.

“Matrix Homes and Properties Ltd wishes to bring to the attention of our customers and members of the public that Omiyinka Olanrewaju James AKA Baba Ijesha has ceased to be a brand ambassador of our company,” it said.

“…following his recent misconduct which is antithetical to our company’s values. Matrix Homes and Properties, therefore, disassociates itself in entirety from Baba Ijesha.”
Meanwhile, the CCTV footage of the actor assaulting his victim has been released.
According to PUNCH Baba Ijesha can be seen in the video kissing and fondling sensitive parts of the body of the 14-year-old girl.

The 43-year-old actor, while engaging in the act, was also seen licking the fingers on the left hand of the victim and caressing the minor’s legs and thighs with his left hand, the report said.

In an apparent effort to sexually arouse the minor, Baba Ijesha was also said to have been seen lifting the victim’s dress as he caressed her body.

The victim’s foster mother, actress Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Comedian Princess, had explained how they deliberately left the actor and the teenager alone to determine if the her claim that he molested her before was true.

That was after they have set up the CCTV to monitor his actions.

From the PUNCH's report, it was the actor  that instigated the sexual advances while sitting on the sofa with the young girl.

The report said that shortly after the actress stepped out, the actor was seen using his hand to caress the young girl's left arm.

Before Baba Ijesha started the act, Princess was seen leaving her apartment with three others, leaving the actor and the victim in the parlour to see off the guests, the report stated.

After Princess left the apartment, Baba Ijesha was shown by the CCTV footage searching the rooms.

Some minutes later, he kissed the minor’s arm, hugged and caressed her body as they sat on the sofa.

However, the girl, who was uncomfortable by his advances, quickly disentangled herself from the actor’s grip.

The actor was again seen in the footage, standing with the victim in the parlour, hugging the minor and using his two hands to caress her buttocks.

She, however, disengaged herself from Baba Ijesha, who clung to her.

Afterwards, he was seen using both hands to caress the minor’s head.

According to the report, the footage also showed him bending the girl to a corner on the sofa and kissing the minor. Again, the 14-year-old girl disengaged herself from his grip.

The report stated from the footage assessed, there was no part that showed the actor defiling the minor.

Meanwhile, the actor was seen in another footage remorsefully pleading to Princess, and some other persons, who allegedly caught him sexually assaulting the minor in the parlour.

"Please forgive me, I am sorry. I know I have offended but please forgive me. I beg you in the name of God, please forgive me. You tried for me, you don’t deserve this.

“I don’t know what went wrong with me, forgive me. If you want to take me away (to Panti), let me just kill myself. I know I have done what is wrong, but please, forgive me,” the actor said in the footage while being interrogated by Princess and others.

Lagos police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, had said the actor remain in custody pending legal advice from the state ministry of justice.

While Baba Ijesha only said he assaulted the victim, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Team (DSRVT), which stated that it is following up with the case, added that the rape claims against him are not being ruled out.
