Jubilation in Enugu as Father Mbaka reappears hours after he was declared missing

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka who was declared missing by his church members has resurfaced hours after protests.

The prominent Catholic Priest, who is the spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, on Wednesday caused panic in the state after his followers marched to residence of Catholic Bishop of the Enugu Diocese, Bishop Callistus Onaga, demanding for his whereabouts.

Mbaka was said to have been invited by the Bishop on Tuesday and nothing was heard of him since.

After gathering for on Wednesday morning for their usual church programme at the Adoration ground, the church members were told that Father Mbaka's whereabout is unknown.

They were told that Bishop Onaga had called Mbaka on Tuesday that he wants to see him in his residence.

The announcement got his followers angry and they marched straight to the Bishop's house to demand for information about Mbaka.

After being told that the Bishop is not around, the protesters then marched to Holy Ghost Catholic Cathedral, the Bishop's parish.

Before leaving the Bishop's residence, the protesters were said to have destroyed some properties in anger.

But hours later, Mbaka reappeared to the joy of his followers who started jubilating immediately.

The Priest arrived in a Toyota Rav4 which drive into the crowd of protesters.

In a video posted online, his followers can be seen singing 'oyoyo' 'oyoyo' and later father Mbaka came out and stood on the roof of the car and waved at the protesters.

Mbaka later asked his followers to move to his adoration ground where he promised to address a press conference.

Where he emerged from is not yet known.

Mbaka recently clashed with the Presidency after calling for President Muhammadu Buhari to resign or be impeached over worsening insecurity in Nigeria.

The Department of State Service (DSS) had earlier denied reports that they arrested Mbaka.
