"They destroyed my Escalade, took my phones, N650k" - Clem Ohameze speaks on attack by thugs in Uyo

Veteran actor, Clem Ohameze, has narrated how he was attacked by suspected hoodlums in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

The incident was said to have taken place on Thursday, October 22, during the heat of the #EndSARS protest.

Photos of the injured film star had circulated on social media after a Twitter User broke the news.



In a chat with BBC Igbo, the actor said
the incident took place in Abak road, Uyo. 

He said the thugs took his N650,000, phones, destroyed his vehicle (Escalade) after injuring him.
He said they slashed his hand with machete before making away with his and cash collected from him.

Ohameze, who said he is in Uyo for a movie shoot, said he has been in the hospital since then and has made a police report.

"It happened on Thursday in Uyo. The protesters, I ran into them. On recognizing me, they just didn’t want to bother. They took everything away from me,” the actor explained.

“Took N650,000 from me, all my phones. Destroyed my car, slashed my hand with a machete. I did a police report when this happened. I was on Abak Road in Uyo. I went to work on a movie set of my own.”
