#EndSARS protesters in Lagos hire private security to protect them against hoodlums

Nigerians peacefully protesting against police brutality were attacked by thugs in Lagos state on Thursday.

The attack happened at the Lagos state house of assembly gate in Alausa, Ikeja, the state capital.

In videos posted on online, the hoodlums who came with chartered buses held, machetes, Cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.
The EndSARS protesters have now hired private security to protect them against hoodlums in Lagos.
The protesters are also mobilizing private security to protect their counterparts in other states. 
The protesters attacked in Lagos later regrouped and continued their match.

The Lagos State government has since denied sending the thugs against protesters.

Across the country, there have been protests calling for the scrapping of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) of the Nigeria police and a reform of the force.

The police unit was disbanded and renamed, but Nigerians are demanding the prosecution of all police officers involved in the abuse and killing of citizens.
