Fani-Kayode reacts to backlash over pictures of him with another woman

Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has denied claims that he plans to marry another woman amid the crisis rocking his marriage with his estranged wife.

The ex-minister had on Monday shared a slew of photos showing him sitting on a couch alongside a beautiful lady which he has identified as Halima Hatum.

This had sparked rumours that he was set to marry a fifth wife, with many attacking the former minister.

The rumours came at about the same time when his marriage to his fourth wife, Precious Chikwendu, hit the rock after six years.

But in a follow-up post, Fani-Kayode said the reports of him remarrying are “false”, adding that Halima “is simply a dear friend and confidante.”

"There have been wild speculations in the social media that I am planning to get married again. This is false,” the former minister wrote.

“Miss Halima Yusuf, who has been cited as my fiancee, is simply a dear friend and confidante who I have the utmost respect for and who I hold in high esteem.

“She, together with others, has been a source of immense comfort for me and mine at this time and for this I am eternally grateful to her.

“I appeal to all those peddling the falsehood that we are about to get married to please desist from doing so.”

Fani-Kayode has been married four times.

He had tied the knot with Saratu Attah in 1987. The duo, however, split three years later.

In 1991, the ex-minister married Yemisi Adeniji but they were separated by 1995.

His third marriage was to Regina-Hanson Amonoo, also known as Gina Hall in 1997 after which he tied the knot with Precious Chikwendu in 2014.
