BBNaija: Laycon wins 2020 Big Brother Naija reality show

Olamilekan ‘Laycon’ Agbeleshe has emerged winner of the 2020 edition of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

The 26-year-old singer was announced the winner on Sunday night live show after polling the highest votes of the five remaining housemates.

The last five housemates were Nengi, Dorathy, Vee, Neo, and Laycon.

Laycon won the show with 60% of the votes from fans.

Dorathy Bachor emerged the second runner-up at the show.

Vee was the first housemate to be evicted from the ‘Lockdown’ house on Sunday followed by Neo and then Nengi.

This means Laycon will go home with the show’s N85 million grand prize.

The breakdown of the grand prize for BBNaija season five includes: “a N30m cash prize; a two-bedroom apartment courtesy Revolution Plus; a top of the range SUV from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors; a trip to Dublin courtesy Guinness; home appliances courtesy Scanfrost.”

Others are “a trip to Dubai packaged by Travelbeta; a year’s supply of Indomie noodles, Munch it and Colgate toothpaste; a year’s supply of Pepsi, a branded chiller and a trip to watch the UEFA Champions League finale; and a brand new Oppo mobile smartphone.”

Many fans had predicted Laycon’s victory following his altercation with Erica, that saw one of the show's top favourites being disqualified.

This year’s BBNaija has so far lived up to expectations when it comes to controversies and the usual social media frenzy.

This is despite the early fears that greeted the airing of the reality TV show as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mercy Eke had won the 2019 edition, making her the first and only female to achieve the feat since the commencement of the popular reality TV show in 2006.
