Fani-Kayode knocks Nigerian youths for focusing on BBNaija while their mates toppled government in Mali

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has added his voice to those criticizing Nigerian youths who follow Big Brother Naija while the country is in disarray.

The politician shared a tweet knocking the youths who are more focused on the reality TV show than on national issues.

The tweet mentioned that a 25-year-old in Mali was instrumental to the protest that led to the nation's military toppling the civilian government.

Describing the situation as ''Truly Pitiful'', Fani-Kayode's tweet read, "25 year old man in Mali led the coup to reclaim their nation. 30 years old in Nigeria watching BBNaija shouting ''Leycon my man!''

Fani-Kayode's tweet is coming after some Nigerian celebrities had asserted that the youths are not passionate about discussing serious issues.

Nollywood actress Kemi Lala Akindoju had urged the youths to pay attention to governance in the country the same way they follow BBNaija show.

Also, popular TV host Frank Edoho had said Nigerian youths would rather discuss football, better gadgets or which country has better jollof rice, than issues on nation building.

While Charles Oputa, maverick entertainer and activist popularly known as Charlyboy, had described Nigerian youths who follow BBNaija as 'mumu' (senseless people).
