Over 32,000 Nigerian Youths auditioned for BBNaija Season 5

32,509 Nigerian youths participated in the online auditions for the fifth edition of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

The organizers of the show, MultiChoice Nigeria, made the disclosure on Saturday.

Multichoice had in May commenced online auditions for the fifth edition of the show for potential housemates, listing requirements they will need to qualify for the exercise.



Currently, those who made the final cut are in quarantine to ensure they are not exposed to coronavirus infection.

The organisers had earlier said that anyone that shows signs of ill health would not be allowed to participate in the reality TV show.

MultiChoice were however, silent on the number of housemates that will enter the BBNaija house in 2020.

The 2019 edition of the show dubbed ‘Pepper Dem" featured a total of 26 participants.

They were Mercy, Mike, Frodd, Omashola, Seyi, Diane, Ike, Elozonam, Cindy, Tacha, Khafi, Venita, Sir Dee, Esther, Gedoni, Jackye, Joe, Enkay, Jeff, Nelson, Thelma, Tuoyo, Kim Oprah, Ella, Avala and Isilomo.

Mercy Eke, who emerged the winner of the season 4 edition, went home with the grand prize of N60 million.

Chief Customer Officer, Martin Mabutho, revealed that the BBNaija prize money this year will be “the highest ever in the history of the show”.

Martin added that BBNaija will continue to provide “quality entertainment and value for the audience while exporting Nigerian culture to the world”.
