Child Rights group petitions Police over actress' nude photo with son

Child Rights International, a non-governmental organisation in Ghana, has petitioned the Police to investigate actress Rosemond Alade Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, over her nude photo with her son.

The Ghanaian actress has been facing backlash after she shared a photo where she posed nude with her son to celebrate his 7th birthday.

The race picture shows the actress totally nude while kneeling before her standing son who was just in his underwear and staring at her naked body.

But hours after facing heavy criticism, Akuapem Poloo took down the racy image from her Instagram page and apologised, saying that it was originally meant to encourage people to appreciate their mothers.

In its petition to Ghana Inspector-General of Police, Child Right International said the actress should be investigated for indecent exposure

“As a child’s right organisation that believes in upholding the rights of the citizenry, we deem this act as a violation of the welfare principle of the Children’s Act and abuse of the child’s right to privacy and dignity," it said.

"We wish to notify your esteem office to investigate the taking of the said images and its circulation,” Child Right International said in its petition."
