Nollywood actress Ify Onwuemene recounts current battle with cancer as she seeks financial aid (VIDEO)

Veteran Nollywood actress Ify Onwuemene has released recounting her current battle endometrial cancer.

Onwuemene's industry colleague, Gloria Anozie-Young, had earlier taken to Instagram to seek financial aid for the ailing film star.

She called on Nigerians to donate whatever they can afford into Onwuemene’s bank account to help to foot her medical bills.

“We need help for Ify Onwuemene, an actress from the days of Sam loco and Enebeli Elebuwa. I worked with her on the set of Tajudeen Adepetu’s ‘Everyday People’ in the late ’90s,” Young wrote.

“She’s down with endometrial cancer and tried sourcing funds on her own. Nothing is too small. Send whatever you can to Ifey Onwuemene, Fidelity Bank 6010999993. Thank you.”

Hours later, Anozie-Young shared a video of Onwuemene where she thanked those who have been donating for her hospital bill since the call for help was made.

The actress disclosed that she was diagnosed of stage 3 Endometrial cancer in February 2019 and has spent over N6 million in medical bills since then after going through about eight section of Chemotherapy.

She said the sickness resurfaced again this year and she will be needing another six section of Chemotherapy and blood transfusion.
