Group launches campaign to raise N20m for children of woman murdered by fiancé in Lagos

A Nigerian-based group, AGS Tribe has launched a campaign to raise N20m for the education and upkeep of two little children who recently lost both parents to a murder-suicide incident in Lagos.

Olamide Alli was murdered on June 21 by her fiancé, Chris Ndukwe, who also took his own life, leaving behind two children.

Chris allegedly stabbed the 25-year-old to death with knives in his apartment in Lekki and allegedly committed suicide by drinking a substance suspected to be an insecticide.

AGS Tribe, a Digital Hub for Female Entrepreneurs & Professionals, which confirmed that Olamide was one of its members, called on Nigerians to assist the children who have become orphans.

The Founder of the group, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, said the funds raised would be managed by First Bank of Nigeria’s Quest Trustees.

Durosinmi-Etti revealed that over N4 million had already been donated by members of the public but more money was needed for the children who are still young.

She said, “In the early hours of Sunday, June 21, Olamide Alli, someone who’s very dear to our community was horrifically killed by Chris Ndulue, her fiancé and father of her two kids at his home in Victory Park estate in Lagos state.

“Following this tragic incident, with permission from her family, AGS Tribe is starting a fundraiser in her honour and all proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to set up a trust fund for her children (seven and three years old). The trust fund will be managed by FBN Quest Trustees.

“We hope you’d be able to contribute to this fund. May tragedy be very far from all of us by His Grace. Amen.”
