Genevieve Nnaji hits out at men over the killing of Tina Ezekwe & Vera Omozuwa

Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Genevieve Nnaji is lending her voice to demand justice for the killing of two young ladies, Tina Ezekwe and Vera Omozuwa.

16-year-old Tina Ezekwe was killed by a stray bullet from an alleged drunk policemen at Iyana-Oworo area of Lagos state on 27th May, 2020.

The two police officers involved in Tina's death has been arrested and subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings and will be arraigned in Court.

Vera Omozuwa, a 22-year-old 100-level microbiology student at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) was brutally raped and killed inside a church in Benin city, Edo state, while reading. 

She reportedly died after she was raped and her head smashed with a fire extinguisher inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the state capital.

Vera was said to have gone into the church near Ikpoba Hill to read in preparation for the resumption of school, after spending months at home owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

The news of the unfortunate incidents had sparked outrage on Twitter as Nigerians called for justice.

Lending her voice, Genevieve blamed the incidents on some men who are fond of abusing their powers.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "They either abuse their power, or have the power to abuse. In or out of uniform, we live in constant fear of men. Tina Ezekwe. Vera Omozuwa. Rest In Peace my darlings. We will get justice."
