How Omashola, Ifu Ennada warned AMVCA 2020 participants about coronavirus with their fashion

The Lagos state ministry of health disclosed that those who attended the 2020 African Magic viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) may have been exposed to coronavirus infection.

The state commissioner of health, Akin Abayomi, in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon, said one of the participants at the event held at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, on March 14, tested positive for the COVID-19.




“I hereby notify you that all participants at the African Magic viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) held on14th March at @EkoHotels may have come in contact with one of the confirmed cases in Lagos and are most likely to have been exposed to #COVID19 Infection,” he tweeted.

Shortly after the awards, there were social media reports that a guest opened up that he had symptoms of the coronavirus and later turned himself in and was examined.

Many Nollywood stars and entertainers attended this years AMVCA, which is the 7th edition.

However, some of the stars were prepared for the any eventuality as they stormed the venue with coronavirus fashion.

The stars included Omashola Kola Oburoh, Folu Storms, Ifu Ennada and Chris Okagbue.

After the social media reports, actress and filmmaker, Nse Ikpe-Etim, revealed that she is self-isolating.

"Yesterday, in the morning, I returned to Lagos from the UK - one of the countries listed as a COVID-19 hotspot by the Federal Ministry of Health," she wrote on Instagram four days ago.

"I am presently in Self-Isolation according to the directives of the NCDC and in constant communication with them. So far, I have not displayed any symptoms of the Coronavirus."

"However, I will maintain my isolation and keep people at bay till the coast is clear. I hope everyone is responsible enough to do the same. Avoid public gatherings as much as you can. Wash your hands and sanitize them often. Stock up your home with essentials, while being considerate to others so they too can and most importantly, don't panic. This too shall pass."
