The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Sunday led millions of his church members on a prayer walk to end the spate of insecurity and killings in Nigeria.

Adeboye, who had instructed his church members all over Nigeria to observe the walk, commenced the walk from Ebute Meta to Atan Cemetery in Yaba metropolis and back.

The Christian Association of Nigeria had declared a three-day fasting and prayer to strengthen the military forces in their fight against terrorism and insurgent activities in the country.

CAN President, Samson Ayokunle, had said the exercise would end with a prayer walk today, February 2.

Before the protest, Adeboye had on Sunday during the monthly thanksgiving service at Redeemed Church headquarters in Lagos, prayed that evil doers in the country should be exposed.

While praying, the pastor said God knows where the insurgents are hiding.

“Lord, have mercy on Nigeria. Let there be peace and security in Nigeria. God sees all things and knows where the terrorists are fighting,” Adeboye said.

“We pray that God send His light to Nigeria and expose the evildoers in the country.

“Every soul is precious to God whether a Christian or a Muslim. Father, we declare no more death of the innocent in Nigeria.

“After the service, we are all going for a prayer walk. We will march according to our age. There are some who would march round the church because of their age and there are some who would march with me to Atan Cemetery and back.”

The pastor said God would address the challenges the country is facing if he is called upon.

Adeboye prayed for “restoration of the country” following the travel ban imposed on the country.
