Two Cambridge University graduates die from London Bridge knife attack

Two people stabbe in Friday's London Bridge attack has been confirmed dead.

BBC reports that the two victims were Cambridge University graduates, Saskia Jones and Jack Merritt.




The two were stabbed alongside three others who are still receiving treatment in the hospital.

Usman Khan, a convicted terrorist who was released from prison in December 2018, launched the attack at a Cambridge University event inside Fishmongers' Hall,.

The boss of the venue where the attack began which killed Jones and Merritt said "the building turned into a nightmare".

Toby Williamson, of Fishmongers' Hall, said staff who fought the attacker Usman Khan believed he was wearing a bomb.

Two men took chairs, fire extinguishers and narwal tusks, which were hanging on the wall, to fend off Khan, driving him out of the building.

Khan was later shot dead by police on London Bridge.

London Bridge remains cordoned off while forensic officers continue to search the scene where Khan carried out his attack and was killed.
