"I have a pastoral calling" - Yul Edochie hints on mounting the pulpit soon

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has hinted he might be mounting the pulpit as a pastor soon.

The movie star took to his Twitter page on Sunday to disclose that he is becoming increasingly convinced that he has a “calling to serve God” and that he’s prepping for “more movements” to come amid so much that is already happening.

“Back home in Lagos. After my acting seminar yesterday, resting, recharging for more movements coming up. So much is happening recently that has left me in awe. Indeed I have a calling to serve God. A pastoral calling,” his tweet read.

Edochie's disclosure comes months after he “miraculously” escaped death in a “ghastly auto crash,” and also “repented,” exclaiming that God had given him a second chance.

It also comes a few years after he had contested the Anambra state governorship elections alongside other aspirants and later indicated interest in running for Nigeria’s presidential seat.

Should it happen, Edochie won’t be the first Nigerian celebrity to take up a pastoring career from Nollywood.

Liz Benson, Nollywood actress-turn-evangelist, recently hinted that she now acts only once a while and “doesn’t regret leaving Nollywood.”

“I’ve been around, doing the work of God and still acting once in a while. I don’t regret leaving the movie scene for the pastoral. I feel much more fulfilled being able to answer the call of God because he has equipped me with that which to preach the gospel,” Benson had told Mercy Johnson.

Veteran actress Eucharia Anunobi is also currently serving as an evangelist at a church in Egbeda, Lagos State.
