Nigerians hail BBC reporter, Kiki Mordi, over #SexForGrades documentary

Nigerians have been praising BBC Africa Eye Reporter, Kiki Mordi, over the SexForGrades documentary exposing sexual harassment of students by lecturers.

The 13-minute documentary published on Monday was centered on the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the University of Ghana.

In the documentary, senior lecturer at the UNILAG, Boniface Igbeneghu was caught on camera sexually harassing Kiki Mordi, who posed a 17-year-old admission seeker in the institution.

In the video, Igbeneghu told Kiki how some lecturers in the institution tossed female students for sex.

He had invited the teenager to his office for a number of tutorials, before delving into sexual conversations with her.

Mordi, in the documentary, said she too was a victim of sexual harassment during her days in the university.

She said her team took the initiative due to the clamour to expose lecturers in the habit of sexually abusing students.

Nigerians on Twitter have hailed her for her work, calling for attention also on private institutions of learning.
