On Tuesday, news broke that Nigerian rapper, Sky B, has died after suffering a heart attack.

Multiple reports said the veteran singer died at the Federal Medical Center, Owerri, Imo state, after he was found lying unconscious in his home.

However, the singer seems to have surfaced based on this Instagram post on Thursday.

According to a statement on an Instagram page said to be associated with Sky B, the reports is false and the singer might have fake his death for clout.

Sky B, who is renowned for his 2007 hit song ‘I’m Calling’ and other tracks, seems to be explaining his reasons for ‘faking’ his own death from his statement.

Read the statement below:

"The rumor about my death started after acting a movie last week in Owerri, I died in the movie not in real life.

"The main one that hit the net was the one that happened yesterday around 2:30am I had an emergency which I was taken to the hospital and I called a few friends to pray for me and I updated on my status that I was critically ill and needed prayers only for me to come out after hours of taking drip to hear about my death rumor everywhere.

"I was shocked at first but, now I thank God today that I didn’t die and I can’t die and please let no one post anything about my death.

"Please I beg you to post about my music not about my death. I apologize to everyone who was hurt and to people who cared about me and also I apologize to my greatest fans home and abroad who called tirelessly and messaged to get facts.

"Please SkyB is strong now and ready to perform anywhere on any stage and dropping new songs too. I’m back fully with earth and water."

Recall that in  2014, Nigerian singer, Skiibii Mayana has faked his death just trend online.

Reports had said then that the reggae and R&B collapsed in his sitting room and before anyone could get to the scene, he gave up the ghost.

The reports had said that he was dressed up and headed for his media rounds when he suddenly fell and was unable to be resuscitated.

But it later turnout to be only a ‘sick’ publicity stunt to promote his upcoming song.

Despite the stunt, Skiibii did not achieve his aim and seem to have died musically in Nigeria.
