Beyonce, Jay-Z, Oprah, Clintons, David Oyelowo attend as Tyler Perry open first Black owned Film Studio

Tyler Perry opened a brand new 330 acre film studios in Atlanta, Georgia, over the weekend.

The legendary actor, playwright, and filmmaker is now officially the first black man to own a film studio in America.

According to the LA Times, the complex is larger than Paramount, Warner Bros., and Walt Disney’s Burbank studios combined.

The star studded event is being described as “the black Met Gala” or Oscars, Emmys and Grammys combined.

The guest list included music superstars Beyonce, Jay-Z, Ludacris, T.I., Usher, Diddy, Kelly Rowland, politicians like former President Bill Clinton and wife Hillary Clinton, Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. John Lewis;  media figures CBS’s Gayle King, CNN’s Don Lemon, Tamron Hall and “The View’s“ Sunny Hostin; and award-winning creators Viola Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Debbie Allen, Phylicia Rashad, David Oyelowo, Ava DuVernay, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

In his speech, Tyler Perry challenged his guests to dream bigger, like he had, while turning the former Army base into his personal production play land.

Perry also paid tribute to trailblazing black stars who inspired him — Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Will Smith, Halle Berry, Sidney Poitier, Whoopi Goldberg, Cicely Tyson and Harry Belafonte.
