Canon Otto, winner of the 2014 edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search reality TV show has been kidnapped by gunmen.

According to Daily Post, he was abducted in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Police officers assigned to guard ex president Goodluck Jonathan’s residence at No. 89, Fourth Avenue in the Gwarimpa district of Abuja looted the property over a period of three months, Premium Times reports.
According to the news outlet, Jonathan’s spokesman Ikechukwu Eze confirmed the report, adding that three officers have been arrested.

Trump kicks out Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director just after a week

Just barely a week into his administration, President Trump has removed Anthony Scaramucci as White House Communications Director.

The change is reported to have come at the request of newly appointed chief of staff John Kelly, who assumed position a few hours ago, White House officials said.

 It was not clear if he would take on a new role after leaving the communications job, nor was it immediately clear who would take over the position.

The Niger Delta elders had presented a 16-point demand to the government as part of efforts to stop militancy in the region.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan‘s house in Abuja has been burgled, Premium Times reports.

According to the news medium, the house was not burgled by thieves but police officers assigned to guard the house.

It was learnt that Nigerian Police has arrested three of its officers for stealing items valued at several millions of naira from the Abuja residence.

Six kidnapped pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe who were recently rescued by the Police have said they were maltreated by their abductors.

One of them, Ramon Isiaq, who spoke with Punch said the kidnappers exposed he and his colleagues to rain at the camp where they kept.

He said they were fed with poorly cooked food and that they were only allowed to bathe once in a week.

Six members of NNPC exploration team still missing – Army says as Osinbajo orders military to rescue them

The Nigerian Army has said its claim that all staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as well as that of University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) have been rescued was ‘regrettable’ and unintentional.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Sani Usman on Saturday, the army said rescue team has recovered additional bodies of 5 soldiers, 11 Civilian JTF and 5 members of the exploration team.

It added that 6 members of exploration team out of 12 that went out are still missing, while one of the NNPC staff returned to base alive.

Boko Haram has released a video of the three University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) staff who were abducted during an ambush on Tuesday.

The terrorist sect had attacked a team of security operatives and UNIMAID staff who were working for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in an oil exploration mission in the Lake Chad Basin region.

Ex-footballer, John Fashanu arrested and held in prison over land scam

Former footballer and Deal or No Deal host John Fashanu was reportedly held in prison for two days for his involvement in a land scam.

According to Mirror, he acted as a fixer in the scam, selling plots of land that were not for sale.

Fashanu had told a friend he had two contacts who could help him secure “forgotten lands” owned by chiefs unknown to the state.

He was allegedly given huge sum to fix the deal with his “boys”. But when the new “owner” went to claim his land, it is alleged he found it not for sale and not in the hands of local chiefs.

Freed Lagos High School students reunite with parents


65 days after the 6 students of Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, were abducted, they were reunited with their parents at the Lagos State Deputy Governor’s office in Alausa, Ikeja.

The freed boys are Peter Jonah, Isiaka Rahmon, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi, Pelumi Philips and Farouq Yusuf.

The Igbonla students were received on behalf of the Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode by his deputy Idiat Adebule, who said the state would intensify security in public schools this holiday period, in time for the resumption of students.

20 kidnappers were killed while trying to rescue the Igbonla students – Police

The Lagos state police command says 20 kidnappers were killed in the process of rescuing the six abducted students of Igbonla-Epe Model College.

The state commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni said this on Friday while briefing journalists on the rescue operation.

The six boys, Agbaosi Judah, Jonah Peter, Philips Pelumi, Adebanjo George, Yusuf Faruq and Ramon Isiaka were released on Friday, 64 days after they were kidnapped.

Kidnapped Lagos High School students rescued in Ondo state (Photos)


Officers of the Nigeria Police have Friday rescued the six school students who were kidnapped Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, Lagos State.

According to Saharareporters the children were rescued in Ondo State due to the personal intervention of the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

The students who were kidnapped some two months ago were all rescued alive and handed over to the Lagos state government by the Ondo state governor.

Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s new book is titled “What Happened” and promises to reveal a personal insight into the 2016 election and her shocking defeat by Donald Trump.

According to the Washington Post, publishers of the book, Simon & Schuster said the book will be quite personal and would also be a “cautionary tale” about Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections. President Trump awards Medal of Valor to officers who responded to congressional baseball shooting


President Donald Trump honored in the East Room the first responders to the June 14 shooting at a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia with the Medal of Valor on Thursday. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Matt Mike, Zachary Barth were shot and others were injured during the shooting.

Two Capitol Hill policemen were on the scene and rushed in to counter the attack and were also shot, the Alexandria Policemen came a few minutes later, saving the lives of the Capitol Hill police and engaging the gunman till the threat was neutralized and members of Congress, their families and others were safe.
