Earlier this month, singer Dede Mabiaku, in an interview with Sahara Reporters, came hard on the President Buhari led government, saying that the change they promised has not been felt by Nigerians.

The highly prestigious award ceremony in the entertainment industry is now being constantly attacked with numerous backlash with claims that it feels outdated and archaic.

The 59th Grammys ceremony is however set for the 12th of February 2017, at the Staples Centre hosted by James Corden.

The 43-year-old entertainer and his 36-year-old wife welcomed the three newborns this January.

While his rep would not confirm their sexes or names, they did comment, “Pharrell, Helen and Rocket Williams have welcomed triplets. The family is happy and healthy!”

The former Princess of Wales, Princess Diana is set to be honored with a statue in Kensington Palace.

Her sons Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry feel this is an action and gesture long overdue in order to memorialize the legacy and influences of their mother in history. 

The Princes have assembled a private committee to help raise funds to sponsor the sculpting of the statue.

A male suicide bomber on Tuesday attacked worshippers during congregational morning prayers at a mosque in Dalori quarter opposite the University of Maiduguri, Borno State.

The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency,NEMA, Sani Datti confirmed the incident

“There was  a reported case  of explosions at Dalori quarters, Maiduguri, Borno State. Our Search and Rescue officers are already on their way to the scene, detail later,” he said

House of Reps to increase fuel price by N5 for roads maintenance

If the House of Representatives signs the current National Roads Fund bill into law, Nigerians may pay additional N5 for petroleum products.

A technical committee set up by the House Committee on Works, chaired by Toby Okechukwu had made the recommendation.

The National Road Fund is aimed at generating revenue for routine and periodic maintenance works on Nigerian roads.

R&B singer, Darey Art-Alade has denied rumours that he paid Kim Kardashian $1 million to feature in the first edition of ‘Love Like A Movie’ concert.

In a recent chat with Tribune, Darey declined to tell how much Kim Kardashian was paid but said it was nothing near the amount being peddled around.

He said, “Those are old hearsay. How much Kim was paid, neither she nor I can tell anybody because it is contractual. But, it no were near the rumoured amount. If I had that kind of money at that time, I know where I would invested it.”

General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman has said operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) were very professional during his interrogation.

The DSS had invited the clergyman after he told members of his church to kill any Fulani herdsman who comes close to them, in a video that went viral.

The agency later attempted to arrest him in his hotel room in Ekiti but he was rescued by the governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Customs intercepts 661 Pump-Action Rifles after they were cleared at Lagos Port

The Federal Operations Unit (FOU) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) intercepted 661 pieces of pump-action rifles from China, concealed with steel doors and other merchandise goods, which came in through Lagos port.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Retired Col. Hameed Ali, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Monday in Lagos.

Ali said that the Federal Operations Unit, while on patrol, intercepted a Mark truck with registration number BUG 265 XG conveying a 40ft container with number; PONU/825914/3 along Mile 2-Apapa Road, Lagos.

While addressing pupils of Ekulu Primary School in Enugu, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, said that the federal government is making plans to ensure that primary school pupils are taught Mathematics and Science subjects in their indigenous languages.

Donald Trump explains why the Muslim ban was so sudden

In a series of tweets, President Donald Trump has explained the miscommunications about the Immigration Order he passed a few days ago.

The President said only about 109 people were actually detained and held for questioning. He also stated that the reason the ban was so sudden was to avoid people getting into a rush to enter the US and thereby allowing “bad dudes” enter the country.

The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) honored acting achievements in film and television on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

US gov't considering asking foreign visitors for intimate details like social media info, phone contacts

Following President Trump's executive order on immigration, Stephen Miller, the White House policy director revealed to officials of the State Department, Customs and Border Patrol, Department of Homeland Security and others that Trump is deeply committed to the executive order and has the support of the public.

On that note, Trump administration officials are discussing the possibility of asking foreign visitors to disclose all websites and social media sites they visit, and to share the contacts in their cell phones. Refusal to comply could lead to the visitor being denied entry.

Pastor Chris Okafor calls El-Rufai "short Herod", says "We Christians are not powerless, we can fight"


Weeks after Apostle Johnson Suleman spoke strongly against the religious crisis in Southern Kaduna, another clergyman, Chris Okafor who is the senior pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries (MLMM), has come out to condemn the attacks, saying Christians are not powerless as they can fight as well. 

Okafor said this while preaching at his church recently. He described Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai as a "short Herod"

President Zuma to replace finance minister with his ex-wife as move to endorse her as next SA President

South African President, Jacob Zuma will be replacing his finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan with Nkosazana Dlamini- Zuma, his ex-wife.

According to the Congress Of The People (COPE), the move to elevate Dlamini-Zuma as finance minister is a move by President Zuma aimed at getting his ex-wife to take over as president of the ANC and hopefully, South Africa.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who had four children with President Zuma before their divorce in 1998, is being speculated as the leading candidate to take office as president at the 2019 general election.

6 people dead in shooting at Quebec city Mosque in a suspected act of Terrorism

According to the Quebec provincial police, six people have been killed and eight wounded after shots were fired inside a mosque on Sunday night during evening prayers.

 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said it would ensure the extradition of Senator Buruji Kashamu to the United States, following a ruling by an American court that he can be extradited.

A US appeal court had ruled that Kashamu must face drug charges and can be extradited by the authorities without being viewed as “abduction”.

The NDLEA also said it would ensure that all orders restraining the arrest of Kashamu are vacated.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has alleged that a cabal has been frustrating efforts by its President, Supo Ayokunle to meet President Muhammadu Buhari.

President of the Youth Wing of CAN, Daniel Kadzai in an interview with joirnalists said the leadership of CAN “has been denied audience with the President to brainstorm on how best to solve some challenges in the country.”

El-Rufai should produce killer herdsmen he gave money – Apostle Suleiman

The General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson has challenged the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai to produce the Fulani herdsmen he paid in order to stop the killings.

He said this in a statement issued by his Communications Adviser, Phrank Shaibu.

Suleiman said El-Rufai should be charged with offenses ranging from murder to other criminal activities.

UNIMAID student, 6 other passengers killed in Boko Haram ambush in Borno

At least 7 passengers were killed and many injured after suspected Boko Haram terrorists ambushed troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole escorting commercial vehicles from Maiduguri to Damboa around Bulabulin area in Borno State on Saturday, January 28th.

Two commercial vehicles were also hijacked by the terrorists and driven into the Sambisa forest area in the attack which took place at about 11am.

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has denied allegations that he tried laundering $10m bailout funds through a US-based Nigerian actress, Georgina Onuoha, who is alleged to be his mistress.

In a statement by the Delta State Commissioner of Information, Pat Ukah, the governor described his involvement as “ridiculously tasteless and mischievous”.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has warned the Department of State Services (DSS) not to detain General Overseer of The Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleiman.

In a statement on Sunday, Fayose also alleged that the DSS was planning to invite and charge the General Overseer of the Winners Chapel Ministry, Bishop David Oyedepo for incitement on Wednesday.
