Ondo election: Appeal Court announces Eyitayo Jegede as PDP candidate

The Appeal Court on Wednesday announced Eyitayo Jegede as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Ondo governorship election.

The court sacked Jimoh Ibrahim of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction who had been listed as candidate of the party by INEC.

Ibrahim’s objections filed before the court were dismissed.

The appellate court put aside the ruling by Justice Okon Abang which declared Mr. Ibrahim the candidate.

Jimoh belongs to the Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction of the party while Eyitayo Jegede belongs to the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the party
